WOW! What a SUCCESS!!
We set a record!! We made, at this yard sale, more than we made at our TWO yard sales last year. We can't believe it! (I'm still counting the $$ to make sure we're not dreaming)
It was the donations and support from our family and friends that made this outcome possible. Thank you to the following people who contributed "treasures" to help us bring our own "treasure" home from China next year.
The Janickis The Baldinis The Houles The Cauleys The Croziers The Donnellys The McGees The Dorous The Dankas The Wiesbergs The McCrackens The Bells The Letendres The Lambs The Mobleys The Berardinos The Fishers
And thank you to those who helped us set up, run the yard sale, and clean up when it was all over. We had John's dad from NC, my family from MA, John's mom from NH, my sister and her friend from RI, and my uncle from KY.
It was an amazing day for us all around, great support from them, but also those people who came to shop and wished us well as we continue on our journey to China.
Check out the "Yard Sale" photo album to get a glimpse of this experience. Thank you again to everyone who has donated their "treasures" (and storage space). Every little bit counts as we save our pennies to help bring our Little One home.
Being Held Memorial Day Weekend!
They say one man's trash is another man's treasure... we've experienced that it is indeed the case.
We held TWO Yard Sales last year to help us put $$ into our Adoption Fund. We made enough money to cover our fingerprinting application & costs as well as to pay for our USCIS processing...and we didn't even advertise except for a sign on our front lawn!
Since we sold all of our "treasures" last year we asked family and friends for donations to be able to hold another one as it's been a great fundraiser for us. You wouldn't believe the response! I think everyone we knew did some "Spring cleaning" this year. We have had so many donations of large items (and many boxes of small items too) that we have to rent a U-Haul truck to go around and pick everything up!
So, if you're in the area on Memorial Day Weekend (Saturday, May 26 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM) and would like to stop by, this is going to be a HUGE event with lots of neat "treasures" to be found. This time around I've advertised on several online websites and there will be an ad in the newspaper as well (if we have stuff left over John will have a heart attack as he wants our basement back!!). I have no doubt that this year even more people will find new treasures as a result of our Yard Sale and we will far surpass last year's record!
Check back after Memorial Day Weekend for more pictures from the Yard Sale and the outcome!
