42 months wait...really?
OK - nevermind waiting more than 42 months for a child - we'll be 42 (over the hill) by the time it happens!

"The CCAA has finished the placement of children for the families whose adoption application documents were registered with our office before March 28, 2006."

Unfortunately, the CCAA was unable to match families up to our agency's next Log In Date. This means that families have waited 42 months for their referrals since they were DTC at the end of March 2006.

Our LID, remember, is 11.21.06 - so we've got a ways to go!

The BIG 4-0
Well, we're over the hill in wait time - the wait has officially reached the 40 month marker. I certainly hope that we are NOT "over the hill" before we end up going to China! Time, we are a tickin'.

July 10, 2009
The CCAA has finished the placement of children for the families whose adoption application documents were registered with China before March 20th, 2006. Our LID (log in date) is 11/21/06, so we still have 8 months worth of applications ahead of ours and the wait continues to grow. Currently the wait is 39 months from LID, and again, that wait is expected to get longer as time progresses. This means that AT A MINIMUM, we will be waiting until February 2010, however my guess and expectation is 2011/2012, which seems like an eternity.

Wait time = 37 MONTHS!
Well, it's official - those families who have just received their referrals have waited over 3 years for their children! OMG!! Yesterday there were 18 families from our agency who received their referrals, and the children were between 9 months and 2 years old. 17 girls and 1 BOY! The "assumed" LID date that China has referred through is 3/8/06...our LID is 11/21/06 - we still have a ways to go, but have plenty to keep us busy. (see "journal" for details)

35 month wait
So, now the wait is up to 35 months from LID - one month less than 3 years. I believe I've said in the past that you'd think I was giving birth to an elephant...however now I'm beginning ot blieve it! ;)

And the beat goes on...
This month the CCAA was able to match families with an LID up to 2.09.2006  with their children.  Our agency did receive referrals for 3 families, who are now looking forward to adding a daughter to their family.  All of the children were between  1-3 years old.

The wait is about 32 months from log in date, so our wait time continues to grow each month.  Hopefully, now that the olympics are over, things will begin to progress a bit more quickly...however I don't see that changing anytime soon.

July 8, 2008

Bad news and good news to report this month.  Bad news, the CCAA only were able to provide referrals to those families with an LID through January 25, 2007...which has extended the current wait time to 31 months from LID, so we continue to wait.

HOWEVER

TWO families that we have met through this journey, who are also adopting through our agency, recevied their REFERRALS... Jen and Jeff, a little boy, and Jen and Kit, a little girl, both under a year old.  John and I were hoping to be able to travel with BOTH of these families, but they will now be traveling together and we'll be living vicariously through them on their journey to China at the end of August.

Also, another adoptive family that we know has just returned from China with their SECOND daughter, Luca.

So, things are hapening in the world of adoption...just not to us at this time.

June 11, 2008
The CCAA was able to match families with LIDs up to 1.20.2006 with their children. This meant that our agency did receive referrals for a son or daughter from Jiangxi Province or Guangdong Province. All of the children referred were between 9 months and 2 1/2 years old. These families have waited a long time for their referrals so we'd like to wish them the best as they prepare for they journey to China. The wait is currently about 30 months from log in date, which makes our expected referral date May, 21, 2009. The wait time is growing each month. Truthfully, our agency predicts that the wait time is likely to get longer but, we do not know exactly how much longer it will get. Our understanding is that the CCAA is doing all that they can to match as many children with families every month. There is no specific information about what the expected wait time is, although our agency states that there is potential, at this point, for the wait time to be more than 3 years; particularly for those who will be submitting applications going forward. However, they can only determine the true/current wait by the referrals the receive get each month. Once, they have received them they can figure out how long the next group can expect to wait.

April 8, 2008
We received an update today from our agency.  The CCAA was able to match families LID up to 1.9.2006  with their children.  Our agency received referrals for 13  children all girls ranging from 6-7 months old.  I think this is the youngest group of babies they've been referred in a while.  So, congratulations to those families, their children will be home sooner than they think!

That said, our daughter won't be home anytime soon.  The wait has now extended to 28 months from log-in date, which for us is January 2009...and the wait is expected to continue to get longer.

March 4, 2008
"Are we there yet?"
Someday we'll be hearing this from the backseat of our car, but no time soon. We received our update from the agency today and the CCAA was able to match families LID up to 1.4.2006 with their children. This meant that CAWLI did not receive a new batch of referrals. CAWLI's next LID is 01.05.2006...at least we're now into the dates for 2006 which is a positive. Although despite this bit of progress the wait is about 27 months from log in date. (LID 11/21/06) If the CCAA continues matching 5 days per month our wait time will continue to get longer, and longer, and longer, and longer and.......

February 6, 2008
The CCAA was able to match families LID up to 12.27.2005 with their children. Our agency, CAWLI did not receive ANY new referrals this month. Our wait time has reached 26 months from LID, which officially puts off any chance of us seeing our daughters face until 2009. Hopefully in March we'll see some magic happen?!

January 3, 2008
On January 2, 2008,  referrals arrived at our agency.  CAWLI families with LID's of December 14th, 2005 received their precious matches.  There are seven little girls, ages 12 months to 4 years, from Guizhou Province.  January 2008 should unite 11 CAWLI families with their Chinese daughters. We hope that in February we will be able to bring this referral group to China to meet their long awaited children as well.

That said, The wait is about 25 months from log in date.  That has pushed the date we receive the photo of our daughter to December 21, 2008.  UGH!

December 6, 2007
YAY!  We're proud to report that 8 families from CAWLI received their referrals this month from the CCAA.  They have all been waiting 2 years (24 months) from LID to referral, talk about patience...so we'll be waiting at least another year before we even see a picture of our Little One.  But it WILL happen, eventually.

November 7, 2007
No referrals this month through our agency :(  The CCAA only got through 8 days worth of referrals this month (12/8/05), so lets tack yet another month onto our wait.  UGH!

We look forward to celebrating our "patience" with friends on November 17...Scorpoin bowls here we come!

October 9, 2007
ONLY ONE!
We received our agency update today and they received ONE referral, which was an expedited referral. An expedited referral is a referral to a family where one (or both) of the "parents-to-be" are of Chinese decent. The referrals from the CCAA were for applications submitted through November 30, 2005. And...the current wait time has extended to 23 months, and expected to get longer :( So, we're now looking at October 2008. Oh well, more time to save $$, do some traveling, and make sure our house is in order for WHEN our Little One DOES arrive!

September 6, 2007
Today we found out that our wait has been extended to 22 months from LID.  That would put our referral at September 21, 2008 (and the wait is expected to get longer).

This month is our 9th month of waiting, and last week we found out that our wait has been extended another month, to 21 months from our LID.

May 2, 2007

And the wait keeps getting longer, and longer, and longer and longer.  We just received an update.  We're told that we could be waiting 19+ months from LID to just get a picture of our Little One.

April 10, 2007
Today we received an update from CAWLI and looks like the wait has extended yet again...from 17 months to 18 months from LID.
